Why Soltris exists.
Soltris was designed and written by a litigation support professional with hands-on experience managing deposition transcripts: importing them under deadline, marking designations against a meet-and-confer, chasing a citation across four hundred pages, and producing the printed transcript a partner takes into the room.
The tools built for that work were disappearing or moving somewhere firms cannot always follow. The trend in litigation software is a cloud account on someone else's terms, priced by the gigabyte, with client testimony held by a vendor and AI that runs wherever the vendor decided. For a matter under a protective order, that is not a preference question; it can be a compliance wall.
Soltris is the other answer: a desktop application on the firm's own workstations, a database on the firm's own SQL Server, licensing that never locks anyone out of their own work, and AI that runs on the firm's own provider account. It was built at a working desk, against the same deadlines it now serves.
